The Chief Accountant will be responsible for the establishment of the accounting function, maintaining the bookkeeping process and preparation of financial statements in accordance with Uzbekistan Accounting Principles (“NSBU”), as well as for all aspects of tax calculations and reporting in line with the local legislation. The chief accountant will be the primary point of contact for the local tax authorities and other relevant governmental structures (i.e. pension fund, statistics etc). The Chief accountant has subordinates who will supervise and develop.

Duties:

• Implement and develop a “1C’’ accounting system in cooperation with consultants.
  • Develop overall accounting policies
  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations, including supervision of junior staff.
  • Prepare accurate and complete financial statements under NSBU and tax calculations and reports within the statutory deadlines
  • Cover all aspects of the relationship with tax authorities.
  • Liaison with external and internal auditors
• Assist the FM and CAO in the development and implementation of finance and accounting processes and procedures in order to ensure an effective overall control environment in line with the best practices
• • Ensure all transactions are recorded timely and accurate.
  • Ensure (also by interacting with other departments) all supporting documents (both own and those received from suppliers and customers) are prepared and recorded timely, accurately and in accordance with the accounting and tax legislation.
  • Ensure all reporting (NSBU and tax) is prepared and submitted accurately, within the respective deadlines and in line with the relevant legislation.
  • Design and develop accounting system 1C in accordance with the best practices (including industrial practices) and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure proper controls are implemented for security and recovery of all classes of Companies’ assets. Ensure timeliness and completeness of recording liabilities.
  • Prepare consolidated/combined financial statements.
  • Fulfil ad hoc requests from the FM and CAO, sometimes within rigid deadlines.
• Organise and maintain tax accounting.
  • Prepare and submit accurate tax returns within relevant deadlines.
  • Advise FM and CAO on all aspects of the local tax legislation to ensure effective tax planning.
  • Work closely with the tax/legal advisors to defend the Company's position in any tax dispute with the tax authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with the transfer pricing legislation.
  • Monitor developments of relevant industrial practices and legislation.

Essential:

• Fluent in written and spoken Russian and Uzbek. English skills will be an advantage.
  • Master’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience, of which 5-6 years should be in a similar position.
  • Solid experience of working in Uzbekistan
  • 1C,Excel,ЗУП
